Founded by Nick Purcell, Purcell Global is a smart inhaler company based in London, UK. As the Lead of Research and Development at Purcell Global, I am driving the development of a next-generation smart inhaler and diagnostic device to track hazardous VOCs and disease biomarkers. My work integrates analytical chemistry, epidemiology, machine learning, and medicinal chemistry to create innovative health solutions for respiratory care. I focus on optimizing drug delivery to the lungs, ensuring precise dosage, and improving adherence through advanced inhaler technology. Additionally, I am designing an early detection system that leverages salivary biomarker analysis to identify respiratory diseases like COPD and asthma at their earliest stages. By modeling drug interactions and refining inhalation-based treatments, I ensure that our solutions meet patient needs and regulatory standards.
Beyond research and development, I play a key role in advancing Purcell’s scientific contributions through conference presentations and collaborations. I manage research proposals, prepare abstracts, and am scheduled to present at the International Society for Aerosolized Medicine (ISAM) Congress 2025 in Washington, DC. I have also been invited to speak at the Sandpit – Advancing In Silico Respiratory Medicine (BIOREME), where I contribute to identifying innovative use cases for respiratory health. My work extends to designing novel sensor applications for detecting inhaled VOCs and quantifying salivary biomarkers, paving the way for breakthroughs in respiratory diagnostics and personalized medicine.
