Headed by Dr. Roshan Srivastav, iSmart was a research center specializing in ground/surface water hydrology under the umbrella of VIT University. Dr. Srivastav had founded this research center with the aim of training students in the field of hydrology and producing quality research output. I joined iSmart in 2015 as a senior during my bachelors of technology (equivalent to a Bachelor of Science). While other tools like HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS are often used, my research was based on developing a Soil and Water Assessment Tool (SWAT) model. The details of the research can be found in the links below. Through my time at iSmart I have learnt the concept of watershed management (using tools like HEC-RAS, SWAT, and GIS) and have applied it to future research.
